1. The Centre recently opened a new Used-Goods Boutique for new families to Canada. We are again donations of clothes and household items throughout the week. Please make sure that your goods would be useful to a newly arrived family. Clothing, bedding, dishes, pots and pans, and basic furniture are all in demand. We do not need fancy glass dishes, novels and general books in English, VHS tapes, puzzles, exercise equipment, and miscellaneous computer parts. If you have goods to donate you must call us first and check if we have room and can use them. We provide everything free of charge to new families in Canada. 2. The centre is still in need of books, magazines, and newspapers in Arabic, Urdu, Turkish, Farsi, Dari, Swahili, etc. We are also accepting ESL books and children's books and DVDs in good condition for the library and children's area. 3. We also collect scrap metal and old cars and take them to recycling. So if you have a pile of metal sitting around, call us and we can collect it from you. 4. We are in need of help in several ways. If you are interested in helping in practical ways check out our Volunteer page. |
